Basketball 7/06/10

Matt Clark, Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach at Lincoln Christian University is happy to announce that Kyle Rust a 6'4" forward from Reitz High School in Evansville, IN has committed to continue his Inter-collegiate career at LCU in the National Christian College Athletic Association. "Kyle's dream was to play college basketball and it's just going to work out for him," said Reitz coach Michael Adams. "He loves the game and loves to play and he has the opportunity to continue and it's awesome." Adams said, “Rust will be a perfect fit for the Red Lions.” "He's what they're looking for as far as the kind of people they want representing them," Adams said. Rust averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds for the Panthers (15-9), who won the ONB Classic Tournament title and finished second in the Class 4A sectional.

LCU is looking forward to having Kyle as a member of the Red Lions basketball team next season.

Matt Clark, Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach at Lincoln Christian University is happy to announce that Christian Lowry a 6'1" guard from Arthur Christian School in Arthur, IL has signed a letter of intent to continue his Inter-collegiate career at LCU in the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Christian averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game. He scored over 1,000 points in his high school career and was named to the NACA Div. IV All-American team this past season. His High School Coach Greg Mast said, “Christian was the guy who did everything. He was a leader on and off the court. He rebounded, defended, distributed the ball and put the ball in the hoop. One of the things that impressed me most about Christian was the impact he has on those around him. When he says something, people really listen to him. He is well respected amongst his teammates. We are really going to miss Christian, but we are excited about the impact he can have at LCU."

LCU is looking forward to having Christian as a member if the Red Lions basketball team next season.

Matt Clark, Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach at Lincoln Christian University is happy to announce that Gabe Cripe a 6'0" guard from Tri-Valley in Downs has signed a letter of intent to continue his Inter-collegiate career at LCU in the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Cripe averaged 16.9 points per game, 72.8% free throw shooting, had 52 three points baskets, had 3 assists and 3 rebounds per game in his final year. His High School Coach Jon Nelson said “ Lincoln Christian is getting a great player and even better kid. Gabriel ended a tremendous three year career at Tri-Valley, and his future looks bright."

Baseball 04/06/10

The Red Lions dropped a double header to Robert Morris Tuesday afternoon 7-1 and 13-7. Andrew Scates was the losing pitcher in the first game, giving up 11 hits. Joshua Bennett led the LCU offense with 3 hits and Jared Nassiff and Seth Martin each added 2. Larry Weese contributed a double...In the second game Anthony Ochoa was the losing pitcher, surrendering 10 hits. The Red Lions had 2 hits each from Nassiff, Weese, and Christopher Hedrick. Bennett had a home run...The Red Lions are now 6-15.
