10/29/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University were defeated in the opening game of
the National Christian College Division II Regional Tournament by Grace Bible College 0-5 .
GBC had 2 goals by Kyle Hendricks, and single goals by Casey Duke { on a penalty kick),
Caleb Befus and Andrew Clark. Grace Bible goalie Joshua Rumenapp had 13 saves.
The Red Lions goalie Matt Nanney recorded 14 saves as LCU finished its season 1-13. Grace Bible will play against Moody Bible Institute, the number one seed at 3:00 pm Friday following the game at 1:00 pitting number 2 seed Northland International University against number 3 seed Maranatha Baptist Bible College. 10/17/09-The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions dropped two soccer matches. On Friday they lost to Central Christian College of the Bible 1-3 and on Saturday they were defeated by Great Lakes Bible College 1-6. The 1-11 Red Lions will be in action at Robert Morris next Tuesday. 10/7/09-The men's soccer team of Lincoln Christian University dropped a 0-4 contest to MacMurray College in Jacksonville Wednesday afternoon. The 1-9 Red Lions had a total of 22 shots on goal but just could not get the ball in. MacMurray was aided by 2 penalty kicks, scoring on 1. Goalie Matt Nanney had 16 saves for the Red Lions. LCU will play again on Friday, October 16, when they host Central Christian College. 10/5/09-The Men's soccer team was defeated by Maranatha Baptist Bible College 0-14 last Saturday. Chris Strohbeck had 17 saves and Troy Lane had 14 saves. The Red Lions will be playing again Wednesday at MacMurray LCU is now 1-5 for the season and will be playing this Saturday at Emmaus Bible College. 10/2/09-Troy Lane scored 2 goals, Nick Alexander had an assist and Goalies Chris Strohbeck and Matt Nanney had 7 and 11 saves respectively as the Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University dropped a soccer game to the Beavers of Blackburn College 2-6. LCU showed great improvement from the first time they met Blackburn and were defeated 0-15. The men will be playing at home Saturday at 1:00 against Maranatha Baptist Bible College. LCU is now 1-5 for the season and will be playing this Saturday at Emmaus Bible College. 9/28/09-Lincoln Christian University dropped a men's soccer game to Emmaus Bible College Saturday 1-5. This makes the Red Lions season record 1-6. John Merritt scored his first goal of the season, Troy Lane had an assist, his sixth of the year, and Goalie Matt Nanney turned in 12 saves. The Red Lions will be hosting Blackburn College Thursday at 3:00. LCU's Women's soccer team will also host Blackburn at 1:00 Thursday. LCU is now 1-5 for the season and will be playing this Saturday at Emmaus Bible College. 9/24/09-Chris Strohbeck scored 2 goals, Troy Lane had one goal , two assists,and Tim Schweitzer added a goal and an assist as the Red Lions soccer team lost a well played soccer game to Knox College Wednesday afternoon. Goalie Matt Nanney had 9 saves in the 5-4 loss. LCU is now 1-5 for the season and will be playing this Saturday at Emmaus Bible College. 9/15/09-Blackburn College defeated the Lincoln Christian University's men's soccer team 15-0 Tuesday afternoon at Carlinville. Although the Red Lions were only able to have two shots on the Blackburn goal, Goalie Matt Nanney came up with 17 saves for LCU. The Red Lions are now 1-4 and will be playing at St. Louis Christian College Thursday. 9/10/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University defeated Grace Bible College 4-2 in men's soccer Thursday afternoon on the Lincoln campus. LCU is now 1-2 for the season. LCU was lead in scoring by Nick Alexander with 2 goals, Troy Lane 1 goal and 1 assist, Christ Strohbeck 1 goal, Tim Schweitzer 1 assist and Goalie Matt Nanney's 8 saves. The Red Lions will play at Moody Bible Institute Saturday. 9/8/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University dropped a 4-1 soccer game to Robert Morris Last Friday. Dave Corcoran had the goal for LCU in a game where the Red Lions showed a great improvement and played well. The Red Lions will be entertaining Grace Bible College this Thursday at 4:00. 9/2/09 -Red Lions lost its opening men's soccer game to Eureka College Tuesday at Eureka. Tim Schweitzer scored the only goal for LCU in the 10-1 loss. The Red Lions will play at home on Friday Sept.4th at 4:00 pm. |
