01/22/10-Lincoln Community High School's Emily Sheley signs letter of intent to join Lincoln Christian University's Red Lions volleyball team in the fall. Read the report in the Lincoln Courier. 11/14/09-Kissimmee, FL: After losing the first two games the Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University led by their four All-Americans Megan Callahan, Krystine Schnautz, Jamie McFadden, Adriane Tschantz, and National Coach of the Year Jason Faar refused to give up and rallied to win the next two games and then extended Clearwater Christian College into an overtime in the fifth game before dropping the championship match of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II volleyball tournament Saturday evening. Clearwater Christian who had not lost a game in their first five matches prevailed 25-12, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, and 17-15. LCU advanced to the championship game by defeating Grace University (NE) 25-22, 25-17, 25-21. Clearwater advanced by defeating Manhattan Christian College in the other semi-final match. The Red Lions completed their season 29-7. 11/13/09-Kissimmee, FL. The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University won their third match at the NCCAA Division II volleyball National Championship tournament Friday morning by defeating Trinity College of Florida 25-18, 22-25, 25-14 and 25-12. LCU 27-6 will now meet Manhattan Christian College Friday afternoon. The Semi finals will be played Saturday at 9:00 am and the Championship match at 3:00 pm. LINCOLN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY IS IN THE SEMI-FINALS Kissimmee, FL. Lincoln Christian University is in the semi-finals of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II volleyball National championship by virtue of winning their fourth match in two days when they defeated Manhattan Christian College three games to one Friday afternoon.. The Red Lions 28-6 posted scores of 25-23, 15-25, 25-22 and 25-17 in their quest two win the third National Championship in the history of the school, having captured the title in 1998 and 2003. The Red Lions will play at 9:00 am Saturday and hope to advance to the Championship match at 3:00 pm. 11/13/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University were pushed hard by Philadelphia Biblical University at the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Volleyball championship before registering a 3 - 0 win in the first match of pool play at Kissimmee Fl. LCU prevailed 30- 28, 25-23 and 25- 18, to improve their record to 25-6. LCU will play again at 5:30 pm against Ozark Christian College. You can follow Red Lion volleyball progress at http://www.thenccaa.org/ -- go to Division II Volleyball and select championship results. 11/12/09-Kissimmee, FL.: Four members and the coach of the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions volleyball team were honored at the awards banquet of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II national championship Wednesday evening. Megan Callahan senior setter from Clinton was named the Co-National Player of the Year as well as being named as a First Team All-American. Joining her as First team All-Americans were Jamie McFadden a sophomore outside hitter from Lincoln and Krystine Schnautz a sophomore outside hitter from Clay City, IL. Adriane Tschantz a senior middle blocker from Decatur was named as a Secord team All-American. Lincoln's Jason Farr was named as the National Coach of the year. Before the banquet the LCU team joined with other participants in the tournament in a service project of preparing Thanksgiving dinners for the homeless in Kissimmee. The 24-6 Red Lions will begin "pool play" today at 11:00 am when they take on Philadelphia Biblical University and at 5:30 against Ozark Christian College. They will continue Friday at 9:00 am against Trinity College of Florida and conclude pool play against Manhattan Christian College at 3:00 pm. The semi finals will be Saturday morning at 9:00 am with the Championship game at 3:00 pm. 11/9/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University came out "smoking" in the first two games, cooled off a bit in the third and then turned up the heat again as they defeated the Panthers of Greenville College 25-12, 25-17, 23-25 and 25-14 at Greenville Tuesday evening. Led by Jamie McFadden LCU was especially strong at the net where they registered 51 kills and 38 blocks. McFadden had 15 kills, 8 blocks and 5 digs, Krystine Schnautz had 13 Kills, 5 assists, 9 blocks and 6 digs; Adriane Tschantz 11 kills, 11 blocks; Nicki Wingfield 8 Kills, 8 blocks 2 assists, Rachel Langseth 4 kills 1 block. Setter Megan Callahan turned in 45 assists and 5 digs and Libero Jessica Crowl contributed 16 digs. The 23-6 Red Lions will next host St. Louis College of Pharmacy Saturday at 2:00 pm. when they will be honoring the five senior members of the team. LCU will then travel to Kissimmee, FL. for the National Christian College Athletic Association National Championships where they are the number one seeded team. 11/7/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University honored their senior team mates, Nicki Wingfield, Adriane Tschantz, Megan Callahan, Jessica Crowl and Jennifer Enata before the start of the Volleyball match, and then made quick work out of St. Louis College of Pharmacy at Lincoln Saturday afternoon., 25-15, 25-15 and 25-9. LCU 24-6 were led by Krystine Schnautz with 16 kills, 15 digs, 1 serve ace and 1 block; Jamie McFadden 14 kills, 7 digs, 4 blocks ,2 assists; Tschantz 10 kills, 1 service ace, 5 digs 1 assist,4 blocks ; Wingfield 5 kills, 1 assist 3 blocks. Megan Callahan had 40 assists and 10 digs. The Red Lions are now headed for Kissimmee FL. as the number one seed in the National Christian College Athletic Association National Championship next Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Red Lions will be looking for the third National Championship in the schools history have won in 1998 and 2003. 11/3/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University have been seeded as the number one team in the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II volleyball tournament to be held in Kissimmee, FL. Nov 12-14. Following LCU in the seeding are #2, Clearwater Christian College, #3 Kentucky Christian University, #4 Manhattan Christian College, #5 Ozark Christian College, #6 Grace University, #7 Providence College, #8 Trinity College of Florida, #9 Philadelphia Biblical University and #10 West Coast Baptist College. The Red Lions 22-6 will open Pool A play at noon Thursday against Philadelphia and follow with a game at 6:30 Thursday against Ozark, Friday they will play at 10:00 am against Trinity, and 4:00 pm against Manhattan. Clearwater will be engage in Pool B play along with Kentucky, Grace, Providence and West Coast Baptist. The top two teams from each pool with then enter the semi finals Saturday morning with the winners vying for the National Championship at 4:00 pm. 10/31/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University defeated Maranatha Baptist Bible College Crusaders in four games 25-17, 25-18, 22-25 and 26-16 to win the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Midwest Regional Volleyball Championship at Grand Rapids, Michigan Saturday afternoon.. At the conclusion of the tournament Red Lions' Megan Callahan senior setter from Clinton High School was named Midwest Region Division II Player of the Year. Joining Callahan on the All Midwest Regional Team were Jamie McFadden (sophomore from Lincoln Community High School) ; Krystine Schnautz (sophomore from Clay City High School), and Adriane Tschantz (senior from Decatur Christian High School). Named to the All Tournament Team at the Regional Championship were junior Jessica Crowl (Unity High School) and senior Nicki Wingfield (Somonauk High School). LCU's Jason Farr was honored as the Midwest Coach of the Year. The Red Lions will play at Greenville College Thursday and finish their regular season against St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday at 2 p.m,. at which time the senior members of the team will be honored. The Red Lions will then head to Kissimmee, Florida, to contend for the NCCAA National Championship November 12-14. 10/27/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University made quick work out of defeating the Red Devils of Eureka College in Volleyball in three games Tuesday evening 25-17, 25-22, 25-19. After trailing 8-12 in the first game LCU turned up the heat and were never headed the rest of the evening. The Red Lions were led by Krystine Schnautz with 12 kills, 6 digs, 5 blocks, 7 assists; Nicki Wingfield 7 kills, 4 blocks; Adriane Tschantz 6 kills, 5 digs, 4 blocks; Jamie McFadden 8 kills, 1 assist, 7 digs, 1 block. Setter Megan Callahan had 32 assists and 11 digs and Libero Jessica Crowl contributed 10 digs. LCU will be taking their 20-6 record into the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Regional Championship as the number one seed, when they travel to Grand Rapids, MI. this weekend. Following the Regional Championship the Red Lions will be playing at Greenville College on November 5 and have their final home match against St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday, November 7, which will be designated as Senior Recognition Day. 10/27/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University will take their 20-6 record into the National Christian College Athletic Association Midwest Regional Championship as the number one seed. The tournament is being hosted by Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids, MI. LCU will play their first game Friday at:5 00 pm against the winners of the Northland International University / Grace Bible College match. The Third place match and the Championship contest will be played on Saturday. 10/21/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University ruined senior night at Principia College by handing the host school a three game loss in Volleyball Tuesday evening.. LCU dominated and grew stronger as the evening progressed as evidenced by the scores 25-22, 25-12 and 25-7. Coach Jason Farr said, " we played with great energy. Everyone got to play and we really played well the last game." Krystine Schnautz was the leader with 10 kills, 5 assists, 6 digs and 1 block. Jamie McFadden had 8 kills, 2 digs and 2 blocks; Adriane Tschantz had 7 kills and 7 digs; Nicki Wingfield added 5 kills, 2 assists and a blocked shot. Megan Callahan had a great night setting up the front line with 34 assists and 9 digs. The Red Lions 18-6 will next play at St. Louis College of Pharmacy Thursday evening. 10/17/09-Trailing 20-24 the Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University rallied to win the third game 31-29 to wrap up their three game Volleyball sweep of the Crusaders of Maranatha Baptist Bible College Saturday afternoon at the Laughlin Center. LCU had won the first two games 25-12 and 25-21. In the third game behind the serving of Lincoln High School graduate Jamie McFadden the Red Lions tied the score at 24-24 and then the teams traded points until the final 31-29. The Red Lions got big games from Krystine Schnautz, 20 kills, 1 assist and 4 digs; Adriane Tschantz 11 kills, 1 dig and 1 block; Jamie McFadden 12 Kills, 8 digs, and one block; Nicki Wingfield 5 kills and 2 blocks; Rachel Langseth 3 kills and 3 digs. Megan Callahan had 15 digs and 46 assists and Jessica Crowl contributed 12 digs. LCU now 17-6 will play at Principia College Tuesday. 10/12/09-The Red Lions Volleyball team was 1-3 in New Orleans over the weekend as they played in a Tournament with Loyola University of New Orleans and St. Thomas University of Huston,TX both NAIA schools which give athletic scholarships. Lincoln Christian University played very well and could have been 3-1 given a couple of breaks along the way. On Friday the Red Lions lost both matches in five games. Against Loyola they were 22-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-15 and 12-15. Against St. Thomas they were 22-25, 25-12, 23-25, 30-28 and 8-15. On Saturday the Red Lions defeated St Thomas 25-23, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-15. In the nightcap Loyola again prevailed 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 28-30. For the weekend the Red Lions were led by their big front line. Krystine Schnautz had 91 kills, 21 digs, 2 blocks and one assist. Jamie McFadden had 82 kills, 18 digs and one block. Adriane Tschantz had 24 kills, 9 digs and one assist. Nicki Wingfield contributed 21 kills. Megan Callahan was outstanding with 212 assists and Jessica Crowl chipped in with 39 digs. The 16-6 Red Lions will next play at home against Maranatha Baptist Bible College Saturday at 2:00 pm. 10/7/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University demonstrated why they are the No. 1 power-ranked team in the National Christian College Athletic Association by dominating Knox College 25-17, 25-17, 25-22, at Laughlin Center Wednesday evening. The Red Lions completely dominated the net with 44 kills and 13 blocks. LCU's leaders were Krystine Schnautz had 12 kills, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and 7 digs; LCHS graduate Jamie McFadden had 12 kills, 3 blocks, and 8 digs; Adriane Tschantz had 9 kills, 1 assist, and 5 blocks; Nicki Wingfield 7 kills, 1 block, and 1 assist. Setter Megan Callahan contributed 40 assists, 1 block, and 6 digs; and libero Jessica Crowl had 7 digs. The 13-3 Red Lions will be participating in a tournament at Loyola University in New Orleans Friday and Saturday. 10/7/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University dominated as they won two volleyball matches at Eureka last evening. In the first match LCU defeated the host school Eureka College 25-14, 25-22, 25-20, and then defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 25-14, 25-18, 25-22. The Red Lions, the number one ranked power team in the National Christian College Athletic Association is now 14-3 as they entertain Knox College Wednesday evening and then head to New Orleans for a weekend tournament. In the first match LCU overpowered Eureka with strong contributions from Krystine Schnautz, 15 kills, 8 digs ; Adriane Tschantz, 8 kills, 1 dig; 1 block; Jamie McFadden 7 kills, 9 digs , 2 blocks; and Nicki Wingfield 6 kills, 4 blocks. Megan Callahan assisted on 36 points. In the night cap the Red Lions were led by McFadden 13 kills, 7 digs, 1 block; Schnautz, 11 kills, 9 digs; Tschantz , 8 kills, 5 digs, and Wingfield 7 kills, 1 dig , 1 block. Callahan contributed 35 assists and Jessica Crowl added 13 digs. 9/29/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University's Outside Hitter Sophomore Krystine Schnautz , Clay City and Senior Setter Megan Callahan, Clinton were named to the Volleyball all-tournament team in the Millikin University 's Linda Slagell Classic this past week end. Millikin University's Kylee Brown and Lauren West, along with Jessica Berlin, Anderson University, Jill Smart, Aurora University,and Casey Degroot , Robert Morris University completed the honored players. Schnautz had 63 kills and Callahan had 149 assists in the three matches 9/28/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University saw their 10 game winning streak end Saturday as they lost a five game match to Millikin University 25-19,25-15,24-26,15-25, 9-15. LCU then started another winning streak by defeating Robert Morris College and Anderson University. The Red Lions put away Robert Morris in three straight 26-24,25-20, 25-23, and prevailed against Anderson 25-21, 26-24, 20-25, 25-20. The leaders for the Red Lions during the tournament were Jamie McFadden with 71 kills, Krystine Schnautz 63 kills, Nicki Wingfield 33 kills, Adriane Tschantz 31 kills, Megan Callahan 149 assists and Jessica Crowl 37 digs. The Red Lions will next play at Grace University Friday and Saturday. 9/22/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University ranked No. 1 in the nation increased their winning streak to 7 in a row, making their season record 10-2, as they defeated the Lady Blues of Illinois College in three straight games Tuesday evening. The Lady Blues, coached by LCU alum Chad Nelson, brought a 3-6 record into Laughlin Center and stayed close to the Red Lions in the first two games 25-19, 25-22, before dropping the third game 25-10. Coach Jason Farr was able to utilize his entire bench during the third game. The Red Lions were led by Krystine Schnautz 13 kills, 10 digs, 1 block; Adriane Tschantz 9 kills, 3 digs, 3 blocks; Jamie McFadden 6 kills, 9 digs, 2 blocks, 1 assist; and Nicki Wingfield 6 kills, 1 block. Megan Callahan had 8 digs and 32 assists, and Jessica Crowl had 5 digs. LCU will be playing at Millikin University Saturday 9/17/09-Lincoln Christian University's Volleyball team is ranked number one in the Nation in the National Christian College Athletic Associations weekly rankings in Division II Volleyball. The 9-2 Red Lions are followed by Moody Bible Institute, Clearwater Christian College (Florida), Kentucky Christian College and Trinity College of Florida. LCU will next see action when they host Illinois College Tuesday evening. 9/16/09-Krystine Schnautz, sophomore outside hitter for Lincoln Christian University was named as the National Player of the week by the NCCAA Women's Volleyball Division II for the week ending 13 September. Schnautz won the MVP as she led LCU to the championship of the NCAA Division III tournament at Rose Hulman. Krystine led the team with 72 kills in 4 matches with as attacking percentage of ..455. Her kills per game was 4.8. Megan Callahan was also named to the all-tournament team as the outstanding setter. 9/15/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University swept the Monmouth College Fighting Scots in three games at Lincoln Tuesday evening. LCU dominated the Scots 25-18, 25-19, 25-16, as they won their eighth straight match in the past eight days. Coach Farr was pleased to be able to play every lady on his team. The Red Lions are now off until Tuesday 22 Sept, when they will entertain Illinois College. The big front line of the Red Lions controlled the net led by Jamie McFadden 11 kills, 12 digs, 3 blocks; Krystine Schnautz 10 kills, 1 assist, 9 digs; Adriane Tschantz 8 kills, 2 digs, 2 blocks; Nicki Wingfield 7 kills, 1 dig, 2 blocks; and Rachel Langseth 2 kills, 1 assist, 1 block. Setter Megan Callahan had 33 assists, 7 digs, and Libero Jessica Crowl contributed 20 digs. 9/14/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University defeated the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans in a five game match at the Laughlin Center Monday evening. After posting a 25-17 win, the Red Lions dropped the next two games 12-25 and 22-25. Coach Farr then changed his attack to avoid the Trojans' outside blockers, and LCU was able to win the fourth game 25-17 and the fifth and deciding game 15-7. LCU was led by Krystine Schnautz 20 kills, 10 digs, 5 blocks; Jamie McFadden 18 kills, 11 digs, 1 assist, 2 blocks; Nicki Wingfield 10 kills, 5 blocks; Adriane Tschantz 10 kills, 11 digs, 1 assist, 1 block. Setter Megan Callahan had 14 digs and 49 assists while Libero Jessica Crowl contributed 23 digs. The Red Lions improved their season record to 8-2 and will be in action Tuesday night when they host Monmouth College. 9/9/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University improved their record to 3-2 with a double victory over Knox College and MacMurray College in Galesburg Tuesday. The Red Lions, ranked number two nationally by the NCCAA, handily defeated Knox 25-19, 25-18, and 25-18 in the afternoon match, and put away MacMurray 25-9, 25-17 and 25-12 in the evening competition. The Red Lions will be in action again Saturday when the take part in the Rose-Hulman University Tournament 9/2/09-The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University dropped a volleyball match to University of Illinois Springfield Tuesday evening in three games; 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.
