When we think about how to teach and care for our students, we consider the theological values that guide our campus community: That God revealed His Truth in the natural world, through the written Word of God, and in the person of Jesus Christ, His Son. These three modes of communication determine our curriculum, our goals as a college, and our lives as members of the LCU community:
- God’s revelation in nature should inspire us to examine the created, natural world, and the collective knowledge of humankind throughout history.
- God’s revelation through the Bible gives Christians all that is necessary to live faithfully, abiding by God’s will and Christ’s authority.
- God’s revelation in His Son enables Christians to seek a relationship with Jesus that is led by the Holy Spirit within a covenant community.
To further these ends, our faculty and staff serve as mentors, models, and examples as well as instructors; we emphasize both formal and informal educational opportunities; and each of our students takes time to serve the campus or community in the spirit of Jesus as He washed His disciples’ feet.
