Working in the main arenas of complex trauma, family relationships, and multicultural appreciation, Dr. Kim Baldwin finds great satisfaction in watching people reclaim their lives, whether they are clients or students. In her experience, Baldwin says that teaching at LCU has given her the “freedom to ask questions and facilitate my students asking the hard questions that don’t have easy answers, or at times don’t seem to have an answer at all.” When not engaged in therapy or teaching, you might find Baldwin gardening, traveling off the beaten path, playing a strategy board game, or ballroom dancing.
“My students work hard, strive to learn above and beyond what the texts tell them, and live this out by serving others as counselors in their training experiences. This is very hard work both academically and personally, yet they hang in there as they are pulled and stretched beyond what they thought they could do. And they end up discovering that they can do it.”
Dr. Kim Baldwin, Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling
