Eric Teoro is a professor of Business Administration and researches the nature of trust between leaders and followers, the development of a virtuous personal character and corporate culture, and the theology of business and work. Outside the discipline, he explores (among other things) the virtues and vices in The Lord of the Rings. With his initials being EAT, Teoro admits that food (cooking and eating) ranks high on his list of pleasurable pastimes. Teoro explains that he is of Italian descent and his wife is Chinese, so to keep it simple when asked who makes up his family, he just says, “I am married to Susan.”
“A Christian understanding of business does not center on making money or maximizing profit—it centers on making the world a better place, on fulfilling God’s design for man and all creation. Business is ministry. It is service. Business and work is a primary way through which we fulfill God’s design for us as humans, through which we enable all of creation to flourish, through which we bring the order of Eden into the rest of the world.”
