We admire the character and passion of students like you, which is why we’re working with Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing to create a dual-degree nursing program. LCU students who finish their AS in Pre-Nursing will be given priority status in Saint Francis’ admissions for their 62-hour Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Our relationship with Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing allows for a smooth transition toward a BSN in nursing, with caring faculty in a supportive Christian community.
This approach provides sufficient understanding of the scientific and health information required to successfully pursue a BSN degree, with the added skills of critical thinking, good communication, and collaborative learning. You will develop your compassion to help those who are hurting and gain respect from and for others as a member of the healthcare profession.
Our AS in Pre-Nursing will provide a foundation to fuel your passion for nursing, while incorporating gen-eds and Bible classes to teach you a Christian worldview. The physical needs of creation and the human body will come to life during your microbiology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology classes. At the same time, you will grow in your understanding of humankind’s spiritual needs by exploring God’s Word and the life of Christ. Your role in the church and the world will become clear as you work through classes in discipleship. Starting your nursing degree at LCU will not only prepare you to tend the body—it will teach you to tend the soul.
