Tim, LCU ’12, and Elizabeth (Giesy), LCU ’12, Harrison met at Lincoln Christian University in 2002 while pursuing Intercultural Studies degrees.
They married in 2004, finished classes at LCU, and went on to nursing school in order to complete their degrees. While preparing to move overseas, Tim gained experience in youth ministry and preaching, and Elizabeth worked as a mental health nurse. In 2009, Tim and Elizabeth joined New International and began support-raising to serve in East Africa.
Over the last 10 years, Tim and Elizabeth have served in East Africa, first with New International in Kenya, and currently with Pioneer Bible Translators in Tanzania. Their ministry is focused on making disciples and developing local leaders who abide in Christ and transform their community. This has included one-on-one discipleship, training local leaders in discipleship and Discovery Bible Studies, developing tools and resources for evangelism and discipleship such as Jesus Film’s in vernacular languages, and Community Health Evangelism (CHE) in rural areas promoting holistic health and providing education on nutrition, maternal health, childhood diseases, and environmental health.
Currently, Tim serves as the Program Director for the East Africa Branch of Pioneer Bible Translators in addition to Scripture Impact ministry. Elizabeth helps with the homeschool co-op their daughter, Faith, attends, and is a medical resource for the team. It is their goal to minister and disciple as a family whenever possible.
