Betty Lou (Dyar) Brandon, former employee of LCC ’79-’82, went to her reward by the grace of Jesus on October 7, 2018, after a long illness.
Betty was devoted to her family and to Christ’s Church. She was a minister’s wife for 60 years, serving in churches in Kentucky, Missouri, and Illinois, supporting her husband, Max E., former employee of LCC ’79-’82, leading congregational singing, playing piano, and taking on a host of other responsibilities. After she raised her family, she began a professional career in computer sciences upon earning a bachelor’s, and later master’s degree. She taught data processing at Mount Vernon Township High School, and later taught business at Lincoln Christian College. She also managed finances for several central Illinois farms. Surviving are her children, Denny (Marilyn), Darrel, LCC ’72 (Sandra, LCC ’72), Donald, LCC ’80 (Deanne, LCC), Debra, LCC ’81 (Michael, LCC ’81, LCS), Maurine (Harvey) Collett, as well as 50 some grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
