Charles E. Mills, LCC ’60-’67, went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2017.
He grew up on the campus of Lincoln Christian College, of which his father, the late Charles E. Mills, was one of the co-founders. While in college, Charles served as a pastor in West Point and Griggsville, as well as a youth minister in Wood River, all in Illinois. He became affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America as a District Scout Executive in Illinois in 1968 and continued to serve the scouts in Indiana, Washington, and Oregon until he retired in 2005. Charles loved scouting and was dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people and families through the scouting experience. He is survived by his daughter, Lisel Tate-Vonduyke, five grandchildren, a sister, Joanne Sargent, LCC ’67, and seven nieces and nephews.
