On December 3, 2014, the Lincoln Christian University (LCU) community gathered in the Earl C Hargrove chapel to celebrate the Christmas season.
Seminary Dean Dr. Dinelle Frankland led this special advent chapel service where students, faculty and staff from the Seminary and the School of Undergraduate Studies worshiped together. The focus of our worship was the power of God’s presence among us through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, and through the work of His Body, the Church.
As the service began, each attendee was given several cards. On each card was written the name of an LCU graduate — more than 4,000 in total. At the end of the service, 60 candles were lit and carried throughout the room, each candle representing 70 alumni. As the light of each candle further brightened the room, we were reminded that the Gospel message is being shared all over the world through the ministry of LCU.
In a time of focused prayer each graduate was prayed for by name. This service was a powerful reminder that the mission of LCU continues to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
