Pamela (Peyton) Shoot (LCC ’71-’73) shared these thoughts: My wonderful husband, David Shoot, passed away October 28,2021, after years of bravely battling Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s disease. He will be infinitely missed by me and our two daughters, Erin and Gretchen, for whom, as he once told them, he would “kill a bear”.
Dave brought light into peoples’ lives, as both a minister and an electrician. He enjoyed UK basketball and space. . .especially when it was Captains Kirk or Picard exploring the Final Frontier. The soundtrack of his life was Harry Nilsson, Nuno, The Carpenters and Duncan Sheik. . .with an occasional dance break to Jimi Hendrix or Michael Jackson. He loved shaking Christmas gifts to find his favorite box of peanut brittle and was the Christmas breakfast chef, despite his affinity to burn the heck out of toast. He instilled in his family a sense of compassion and helpfulness, love of Kings Island and the necessity to always “have fun” and “be careful”. While he will be missed every day, those who love him know he can now once again -to quote his favorite Duncan Sheik song – “see the daylight”.
To help others share the Light, we are requesting donations be sent to his alma mater, Lincoln Christian University, David Shoot Scholarship Fund, 100 Campus View Drive, Lincoln, Ill. 62656, or at lincolnchristian.edu.
