Dr. Ronald E. Heine, LCC ’61, LCS ’63, LCS ’66, delivered the 48th annual series of Chi Rho lectures for Central Lutheran Church in Eugene, Oregon November 9-11 on the subject, “Finding Christ in Unexpected Places: Reading Scripture with the First Christians.”
He also presented a paper on Origen’s understanding the Lord’s Prayer at an International Symposium on the Lord’s Prayer that met at the Eberhard Karls University in Tubingen, Germany October 1-3. His two-volume translation of Origen’s Commentary on the Gospel of Matthew, the first commentary ever written on Matthew’s Gospel, was published by Oxford University Press in October. This is the first translation into English of everything that remains of the commentary. Dr. Heine is Professor Emeritus of Bible and Theology at Northwest Christian University.
