Jacqueline “Jacque” C. Summers Kearney, LBI ’57, went to her heavenly home on March 26, 2019.
She was a long-time resident of Griffith, IN where she graduated from high school. Following a short career as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell, she entered Cincinnati Bible College, working summers as the dining room manager at Lake Region Christian Assembly in Cedar Lake, IN. She furthered her studies at Lincoln Bible Institute. After graduating from LBI she worked for Illinois Bell again and then for the Northern Indiana Pubic Service Company. Jacque and her husband Ken lived in multiple places in Indiana, including Chesterson, Seymour, Vincennes, Brownsburg. Jacque loved bold, bright colors, especially orange, singing, flowers, birds, talking about her family’s rich Hoosier history, and chats with her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Those who ever talked with Jacque knew they were precious and loved. She is remembered for her personal faith in God and her encouraging testimony.
