James “Jim” T. Eichenberger, LCC ’77, passed away on March 2, 2019.
Jim lived a life characterized by his love of family, learning, music, and servant leadership. Family recalls him rarely being seen without a musical instrument or a book in his hands. He was a long-time school principal in Springfield, IL, known affectionately as “Mr. E” and remembered for greeting his students with harmonica playing and “high fives.” Later in life, Jim worked as a writer and editor, creating and contributing to dozens of works relating to the Christian faith through Standard Publishing and was a long-time Sunday school teacher and member at Fairfield Church of Christ in Fairfield, OH. He is survived by his wife Debra, daughters Rachel Abke and Sarah Eichenberger, three grandchildren, siblings David A. Eichenberger, LCC ’77, and Diane K. Jones-Dunham; his mother, Kathleen Eichenberger, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
