Joan (Baldwin) Leach, LCS ’65, passed away on September 23, 2016 in her home in Manhattan, Kansas.
She and her husband, Donn, LBI ’50, moved to Lincoln in 1959 when Donn began teaching at LCC. After Joan received her Master’s degree from LCS in 1965, they both served as faculty until they moved to Manhattan in 1972. They were the recipients of the President’s Distinguished Service Award in 2012. Joan wrote numerous devotional and educational articles published by Standard Publishing Company. She was the author of How to Vitalize the Young Adult Class and co-author of First Steps, and Caring for Babies. Joan enjoyed teaching, genealogy, heritage scrap-booking, card-making, reading, and decorating for special church events. Joan and Donn shared a passion for collecting antiques. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Dann (Cindy) and John (Kristi), and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the University Christian Church in Manhattan on September 27, 2016.
