The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Behavior Analyst, implementing behavior services as outlined by the behavior analyst, providing direct behavioral support to assigned clients as outlined by the behavior analyst and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), and provides assistance to individuals in accordance with program policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and personal outcome measures. Implements evaluates, trains others to implement, and supports the implementation of behavior plan strategies. Assists in the implementation of individualized goals and objectives for home, community, and center-based programs as indicated by the needs of the persons we support and directed by the behavior analyst. Assists in collecting data related to any challenging behaviors as requested by the behavior analyst. Assists during crisis events. Assists with assessment development, development of treatment materials, and other tasks outlined by the behavior analyst.

Education and/or Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent.
1 year of experience as a Direct Support Professional or Register Behavior Technician related job working with people with developmental disabilities preferred or as required by regulations.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate required.
Follows guidelines for supervision outlined by the behavior analyst certification board and maintains all required and related activities to maintaining RBT certification and professional growth.
As applicable, must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record as defined by Bethesda policy.
Physical Demands:

Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and/or weekend hours.
Essential Job Duties:

Follows guidelines for supervision outlined by the behavior analyst certification board and maintains all required and related activities to maintaining RBT certification and professional growth.
Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives
Supports DSPs on the proper implementation of reinforcement, proactive and preventive behavior programs and plans, data collection systems and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems
Meets regularly with the Behavior Analyst and notifies her/him immediately of issues impacting people we support progress and satisfaction
Develops written documentation regarding behavioral recommendations for each session conducted. Completes in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Behavior Analyst and funding sources
Assists in the development and implementation of all assessments, training, education, and Support Plans as outlined by the behavior analyst. This includes providing needed supports to individuals with complex medical and/or behavioral support needs. Supports needed may change frequently as goals are assessed and revised as needed a minimum of monthly.
Responsible for learning to implement and training all Support Plans, Crisis Management Procedures. May be required to participate in other protocols such as seizure protocols, etc., but this is not the primary role.
Assists with information gathering for behavior assessments and treatment plans and other behavior services
Maintains and expands skills and knowledge relevant to providing high-quality support and services through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB.com). Obtains and maintains all required certifications and training and applies the information to support people served.
Maintains open communication and cooperative work effort with behavior analysis team members, the Lead DSP, Program Manager, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse and other staff to assure quality and continuity of support to people served.
Responsible for extensive documentation on the implementation of the behavior support plans and treatment. Reports and/or documents routine and unusual events according to regulatory and program guidelines in a concise, understandable, and legible manner. This documentation also includes, but is not limited to: program data collection, and daily routine checklists.
Maintains and documents billable caseload and ensures proper billing entry in Bethesda billing systems as required.
Maintains availability to respond to the needs of the persons we serve, providing on-site assistance to behavior crisis situations
