Worship Leader Job Description

CHURCH SUMMARY:  Buckeye Christian Church is a church in the ever-growing area of Grove City, just south of Columbus, OH. Since COVID in 2020 there have been lots of changes inside and outside of the church. As we are trying to keep up with ever-changing times, we are now in need of a part-time worship minister. Right now, we are averaging about 110 attendees every Sunday with a membership around 200.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a salaried Part-time Worship Leader position with an expectation of approximately 30 hours a week. The primary responsibilities of the worship leader will be to organize and lead all aspects of the worship services for the traditional service at 9:15 and the contemporary service at 11. This will entail organizing, training and leading volunteers on stage, volunteers in the sound booth, volunteers who run slides, and those who coordinate the live stream at the 11 o’clock service. It also includes organizing/supporting the design of stage decorations in support of the sermon series or other activities at the church.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Continue to grow and mature in Christ as a godly person of integrity, have a strong sense of calling and identity in Christ, demonstrate leadership in being able to disciple those in his/her sphere of influence.
Provide leadership, vision, and passion for Buckeye Christian Church in the area of music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision, purpose and mission of our church. Lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities, which align with the mission and vision of Buckeye.
Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to create and lead two well-planned and engaging Sunday morning worship services. This includes leading the Sunday Worship services, recruiting and developing a worship team and scheduling vocalists and instrumentalists. Responsibilities include preparing for and leading rehearsals throughout the week, preparing all slides, finding someone to cover when you are sick or on vacation, and planning/creating stage displays.
Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability. Capability of leading with a guitar and/or piano.
Develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.
Communicating weekly with the Senior Pastor and Administrative Assistant to participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
Assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services.
When available, perform other duties to help aid the ministries of Buckeye.
