Website Hillside Christian Church/Christian Student Foundation of Pennsylvania
Hillside Christian Church in partnership with the Christian Student Foundation of PA (CSFPA) are seeking a qualified individual to minister in the local church and on the university campus in Berks County, PA. Berks County is about an hour from Philadelphia and includes a combination of urban, suburban and rural communities. The county seat, Reading, has a diverse population of 88,000. Surrounding Reading are smaller communities including Wyomissing, Sinking Spring and others which make up a total population of nearly 500,000.
CSFPA is a collegiate ministry which oversees Christian campus communities on secular university campuses across Pennsylvania. Penn State Berks, in Wyomissing, is one of many commonwealth campuses which are part of the Penn State University network. The Berks campus consists of about 2800 students, of which 800 live in on-campus residence halls and the rest commute. While a large portion of students spend two years at Berks prior to moving on to finish their degrees elsewhere, Berks has increased its number of Bachelor degrees to 21, including education, engineering, psychology and more. Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) has been a thriving club on campus for nearly two decades. CSF meets on a regular basis for prayer, worship and study as well as seeking to find ways to be a part of the campus community and to work for the good of campus through outreach, evangelism and acts of love.
Hillside Christian Church, in Spring Township, is an independent, non-denominational Christian church, striving to pattern itself after the church as revealed in the New Testament. We are a multi-generational, family-oriented congregation with an attendance ranging from 80-100 (pre-Covid). The applicant must have a calling and heart for people to grow in their faith in Christ both in the local church and on the university campus. In an ever-changing world, it is essential for the applicant to be adaptable and flexible.
