Hope Christian Church in Augusta, West Virginia, is seeking a person to fill the role of Youth Minister. (working with mid-school and high school) Hope Christian is a church of 250 in worship on an average Sunday morning. Hope Christian believes in the importance of youth ministry. We have a team of dedicated youth coaches ready to help in the ministry. We have a nice facility with a gymnasium. We are an active Church, a Church who wants to reach the lost. We are looking for a spiritually strong, energetic young person who has a desire to reach out into the community and share Jesus with teenagers.
Augusta is a rural area. We are located about 90 minutes from Washington DC and 30 miles west of Winchester, Va.
CHARACTER:
Must be an immersed, dedicated follower of Jesus.
Must have a humble spirit, able to work well with other staff and volunteers.
Must be able to accept instruction from the Church Leadership.
Must be willing to accept ideas from the youth coaches team, leading but not lording over them.
Must have a positive attitude. (Not seeking praise but giving encouragement to others.)
Must be a living example, a good representative of Christ and His Church.
Must accept and follow policies and procedures of Hope Christian Church.
Must be ambitious, (not idle) seeking ways to reach the lost and grow the ministry.
Must have a willingness to grow in their walk with Christ and in the ministry. (attending conferences and such)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach and delegate other qualified people to teach.
Work with youth coaches to design and implement youth classes and activities.
Lead and teach weekly youth classes.
Continue to build a team of youth coaches.
Reach out into the community becoming a part of the community.
Lead mid-school and high-school teen camp. (This is a camp that is held at Augusta, there is a team of volunteers that are very willing to help.)
Be welcoming to teens and their families.
Reach out to the lost.
Work with Church staff on Church-wide events.
SKILLS:
Ability to teach God’s word.
Ability to lead a team.
Ability to communicate with different personalities.
Safe social media skills
