The children’s ministry at New Hope exists to seek lost children and equip saved children for Jesus Christ, here at home and around the world. The children’s minister is responsible for the spiritual direction and programming for children birth through 6th grade. Additional duties will be added as needed in conjunction with their interest and giftedness. The children’s minister reports directly to the Senior Pastor and is reviewed twice yearly for the first two years and then annually after that.

Qualifications:

Possesses ethical integrity and committed to Jesus Christ and His church.
Has a heart for both children and parents.
Able to motivate, encourage and mentor volunteers.
Understands child development and how to select and use children’s curriculum.
Able to lead children to Christ and help them grow spiritually.
Able to multitask several projects at once.
A team player

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee two Sunday morning services and an evening children’s programming such as VBS, Bible Bowl, etc…
Recruits, trains, and supports children’s ministry volunteers.
Prepares and administers the Children’s Ministry budget.
Provides spiritual counselling and mentoring for parents, children and volunteers.
Provides materials and encouragements for parents to disciple their children at home.
Chooses curriculum and trains volunteers to use it effectively.
Hosts periodic events to build enthusiasm and reach unchurched children in our area.
Works with others on programs that benefit the whole church.
Provides spiritual counselling and mentoring for parents, children and volunteers.
