Youth and Children’s Minister

Journey Christian Church is seeking a full-time Children’s/Youth Minister.  We are a newly-relaunched church located in Woodstock, Georgia, just north of Atlanta.  Woodstock is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States.  Our vision is to bring the peace of Christ to every household in our community.  We seek to accomplish this through robust, evangelistic strategies, caring for the community with an emphasis on supporting foster families, and ministering in our neighborhoods.  We are a church of 120 with about 1/3 of our congregation being recent additions.

We purchased property in an area expected to experience the greatest future growth in Cherokee County.  There are 175,000 people within a fifteen-minute drive of our property.  90,000 of those people rarely or never attend church.  God has placed us on a mission field.  We hope to have the first phase of our building completed in 2021.

As a church of volunteers, Journey is looking for someone gifted in administration, willing to oversee the various ministry areas for the youth of our church.  This position does not expect one person to “do everything,” but instead to recruit, love, support and encourage volunteers in their areas of service.

We understand that these two ministry areas (Youth and Children’s Ministry) are very different.  As a newly-launched church, we are all wearing many hats as we prepare for growth.  Our goal is that this one paid position will become two paid positions when we reach an average weekly attendance of 200.

Compensation will be based on experience.  We prefer candidates to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Christian higher education.  We believe in the unifying call of the Restoration Movement wholeheartedly and seek a candidate who shares that conviction.
