Job Title: Administration and Personnel Pastor
Status: Full-Time
Supervisor: Lead Pastor
Summary/Objective:
The Administration & Personnel Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor and is responsible for the leadership, organization and direction of church ministries to equip them to carry out the church’s mission and vision. This includes weekly operations, strategic planning, administration, ministry management, and oversight of pastoral care.
Essential Functions:
Operations:
Ensure the operational readiness of the church through leadership and oversight of the support staff performing duties in administration, ministry, and building and grounds management.
Work with the church’s legal counsel should any legal action be brought against the church.
Ensure the church is properly insured for all operations. Responsible for the research, evaluation, and comparison of various insurance providers.
Coordinate and work with staff and Finance Team to develop the annual budget. Provide consistent communication regarding the current status of the budget to ministry leaders.
Track attendance and giving and analyze the data.
Serve on finance team.
Oversee building/facility use in conjunction with building use policy.
Oversee established policies and develop policy where needed. Combine into a comprehensive manual.
Be available on Sundays to teach, fill-in, becoming familiar with all areas of Sunday morning programs & volunteers.
Systems & Procedures:
Support the Lead Pastor in carrying out the mission and vision of the church through consistent and intentional focus to strategic ministry objectives, church-wide ministry mapping and planning, the development and implementation of processes for effective ministry evaluation and regular reports on progress as well as recommendations for next steps.
Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures (KPMs) that provide the Lead Pastor and church staff with data on the effectiveness of all functional areas of ministry within the church.
Implement infrastructure and uniform operational procedures for all ministries in the church, leadership and succession planning and change management for healthy, long-term growth of the church.
Identify where systems and procedures are needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the staff.
Ensure all staff are using the Church Management Software to keep people connected and develop community.
Coordinate and maintain the church calendar for staff & church members.
Staff
Guide, facilitate and coordinate the work of the church staff.
Work with Lead Pastor & Elders on the employment of staff.
Oversee job descriptions and ensure there is an accurate description for each staff position.
Oversee the attendance of staff.
Responsible for coordinating ministry reviews every 3 months.
Develop Employee Handbook outlining all appropriate policies and procedures.
Conduct staff and team building meetings. Staff meetings will be designed for the purposes of team-building, equipping, transfer of vision, and ministry coordination.
Responsible for taking care of church staff. Invest in their relationship with God, personally, and professionally. Be an advocate for the staff team.
Coordinate vacation time.
Help staff develop plans for personal and professional health and growth.
Plan and organize staff retreats.
