Taylorville Christian Church is a growing congregation averaging 240 in Sunday worship attendance. TCC has a group of excellent volunteers who have sustained the Student Ministry for over two years without staff leadership but are eager to work with our next Student Minister. Taylorville is a small town in central Illinois, conveniently located within easy driving distance of Springfield (the state capital) and Decatur.
Purpose
The Student Minister will develop a comprehensive ministry to Junior High and High School students leading them to love God and love others.
Strategy
The Student Minister will fulfill this purpose with the following strategy:
High School and Junior High Student Ministry
Develop program for students which includes the following:
Age appropriate, engaging biblical teaching.
Opportunities for making connections with adult staff and volunteers.
Outreach events which will allow TCC students to invite friends.
Plan and lead youth trips to camp retreats, summer conventions, mission trips, and other events which would lead students to love God and love others.
Identify, recruit, and train volunteers for effective student ministry.
Lead Student Ministry Team.
Develop relationships with VisionWay Christian School Junior High students through frequent interaction with students and staff.
Other ministry duties
Oversee the volunteer background checks for the Student Ministry.
Participate in pastoral care duties along with other ministers, including hospital visits, home visits, and telephone calls to members in particular need.
Participate as a team member with the ministerial staff in big events in the life of the church.

Our hope is to find someone both passionate and who has relevant experience in one or more of these areas in addition to the Student Minister job responsibilities listed above.
Qualifications
Must be committed to Jesus Christ, spiritually mature, and passionate about leading students to develop a transformational relationship with Jesus Christ.
Must be a leader of leaders, with a developer’s heart.
Must be committed to the mission and vision of TCC
Must be a team player who works effectively with other staff members and volunteer leaders to accomplish excellent results.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
Holds bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a ministry-related field.
Has successful ministry experience in at least one of the two primary areas of responsibility.
