They will champion and shape both the vision and mission of the church, thinking beyond current circumstances and looking to broader, Kingdom-inspired opportunities.
Job Description:
Corporate Worship: Prepare and deliver original sermons.
Special Occasions: Conduct special worship services during the calendar year. Be available for weddings, funerals for the congregation as well as baptisms, and baby dedications as needed.
Congregational Care: The Pastor will be available for pre-marital and short-term pastoral counseling and will make referrals for counseling as appropriate, to encourage a stable and healthy body of believers.
Oversight: Serve as the principal administrator of the church and supervise paid and volunteer staff with the understanding that TLC is structured as a staff-led, deacon-guided, church with the pastor in the lead position.
Vision: Be the primary vision creator. With the approval of the deacons, create, communicate, and live out the vision/direction of TLC both corporately, with staff, individually, and in the community as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Be able to give testimony to their love for the Lord and their call to pastoral ministry.
Have a deep passion to understand and teach the whole counsel of God’s Word.
Love people in & outside the church and be able to create and sustain positive relationships with them.
A formal theological ministry and/or college degree is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated competency in preaching, counseling, special services, and leadership.
Ministry experience as a pastor or other full-time ministry experience is required.
Sound character and integrity, meeting the biblical qualifications of an elder and overseer as defined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
A history of compassionate character, demonstrating the fruit of the Holy Spirit as listed in Galatians 5.
A heart of humility evidenced in the willingness to shepherd and serve sacrificially.
A deep commitment to prayer and personal time in God’s Word.
Aligns with The Lakes Church’s statement of faith.
Compensation:
The compensation package includes Pastor’s salary, social security offset, retirement, housing allowance, health insurance, and paid vacation.
