The next Senior minister at Whitewater Crossing Church will be a continuous learner, inspiring Biblical teacher, and humble collaborative leader with a passion for seeking the lost and advancing Christ’s kingdom inside and outside the walls of the local church.
Background:
• Hold a Bachelor’s or more advanced degree
• Formal theological education or extensive theological training
• 5+ years managing a staff team at a church or Christian non-profit organization
• Significant preaching experience
Skills / Attributes:
• Commitment to Biblical preaching in a compelling and challenging way
• Commitment to lifelong learning and pursuit of Christ
• Ability to collaboratively build vision and create a compelling strategy
• Ability to inspire staff and congregants to lead others to Christ outside of Sunday
services through personal relationships in their everyday lives (disciple making)
• Ability to motivate others to be generous with their time, talent, and treasure
• Ability to actively coach and develop other speakers over time
• Ability to manage and lead staff directly
• Ability to lead other leaders well, including delegation
• Heart for the lost, with ability to speak to multiple stages of spiritual growth as well
as multiple generations
• Ability to navigate divisive and cultural issues with truth and grace
• Ability to collaborate with outside community leaders and other ministries
Other Job Requirements:
• Preaching at least 67% of Sundays, with additional limited platform presence on
non-sermon weeks (total platform presence at least 75% of Sundays)
• Leader of full staff organization
• Direct reporting responsibilities to Elder board
