Website Woodburn Christian Children's Home
The Woodburn Christian Children’s Home, located near Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a state-licensed residential child-care ministry providing a Christian family environment for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma and/or homelessness. Since 1972, our mission is to provide a Christian home for children … to minister to families on physical, educational, emotional and spiritual levels. We are licensed with the Department of Child Services to care for children (male/female), ranging from 6 to 21 years old. We employ a biblically-based houseparent model coupled with counseling, off-site education, physical therapies, like skill instruction, and participation in a local church.
Woodburn Christian Children’s Home is looking for 2022 summer internship candidates. This would be great for counseling students, Teacher Ed students, and Youth and Children’s Ministry students. This is a paid internship with housing and meals provided (8-12 weeks). The internship provides various ways to interact with WCCH children (residents) and staff. The interaction covers the four developmental domains: physical, educational, emotional and spiritual. Our desire at WCCH is to help train upcoming Christian leaders within the ministries of residential childcare, counseling, family ministry, non-profit management, and possibly youth ministry.
