2018 Lincoln Leaders’ Scholarship Winners Announced

The Enrollment Services staff at Lincoln Christian University (LCU) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Lincoln Leaders’ Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship to be applied for the duration of a bachelor’s degree.

Levi Steele and Bryce Cook are the winners of the Lincoln Leaders’ Scholarship competition held at LCU on Nov. 11, 2017. Each rose to the top of an excellent applicant and attendee pool that included 28 of their peers and competitors and many future classmates, themselves selected from the several dozen original scholarship applicants.

Levi is from Nashport, OH and a senior in high school. He intends to study Psychology upon his arrival to campus and desires a profession where he can help people emotionally and spiritually. Several of the interview and discussion group panelists noted Levi’s leadership capabilities and his vision for what an LCU education would mean for him.

“I’m most looking forward to the amazing student body at Lincoln and I can’t wait to get to know my professors,” Levi said. “I chose Lincoln Christian University because of how close it is to my extended family, and because of its mission.”

Bryce is a high school senior in Wolcott, IN. He intends to complete a degree in Christian Ministry at LCU, and follow that up with a Masters of Divinity and eventually a Doctorate of Ministry. He’d like to pursue a career in pastoral ministry while continuing his schooling after undergrad.

“The biggest thing that drew me into LCU was the community,” Bryce said. “It was obvious from the first time I stepped onto campus that this is a community that cares about each member and truly wants to grow as one in Christ. I’m really looking forward to being part of that community. “

Both have extensive leadership and service experience in their churches, schools, and communities, and embody the type of student LCU seeks to attract: those who desire to spend their college years in a campus community setting that will prepare them not just for a vocation, but for a lifetime of servant-leadership.

Levi and Bryce were selected as winners based on the evaluations and recommendations of LCU faculty and staff interview and discussion group panelists, as well as their academic success to date and answers about community service and Christian leadership on the scholarship application.

Congratulations, Levi and Bryce! LCU is very much looking forward to having these Lincoln Leaders join our student body in the fall.
