The 2013 James D. Strauss Worldview Lectureship at Lincoln Christian University will take place on October 1 and 2.
This year’s guest lecturer is Dr. Darrell L. Bock, of the Dallas Theological Seminary, speaking on the topic, “Kingdom, Cross, or Both? Sorting Out What the Gospel Is”
Dr. Bock’s academic credentials include a BA from the University of Texas, ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, PhD from the University of Aberdeen, and postdoctoral studies at Tubingen University.
Dr. Darrell Bock has earned international recognition as a Humboldt Scholar for his work in Luke-Acts, historical Jesus study, biblical theology, and with messianic Jewish ministries. He was the 2000-2001 president of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS), serves as editor-at-large for Christianity Today, and serves on the boards of Chosen People Ministries and Wheaton College. He is a well-known author of more than 30 books on biblical topics. Some of his articles have appeared in leading journals and periodicals, including many secular publications. He has worked with a variety of media, including ABC, CNN, Day of Discovery, and John Ankerberg shows. He has blogged on culture and Scripture for over seven years and has been a part of the weekly Texas Faith blog at the Dallas Morning News since its inception. He has been a New York Times best-selling author in nonfiction, and is Elder Emeritus at Trinity Fellowship Church in Dallas.
