Lincoln Christian University is pleased to announce that Dr. Frank Dicken has accepted the call to serve as Vice President of Academics effective January 1, 2020.
Dr. Dicken is Associate Professor of New Testament at LCU and has served here since 2013. He follows Dr. Barney Wells, who has served as both Graduate and Seminary Academic Dean and Interim Chief Academic Officer since June 1.
Dr. Dicken is an accomplished member of our faculty as well as a graduate of the former Lincoln Christian College (East Coast) and Lincoln Christian Seminary. He also holds a Certificate of Advanced Study from St. Mary’s Seminary and University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. He has served as the School of Bible and Theology Representative on the University’s Academic Council, as the Program Director for the B.A. in Biblical Studies, and the Faculty Athletics Representative. He is the author or editor of a number of publications on Luke-Acts, which was also the focus of his doctoral work. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the British New Testament Society. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at many institutions including TCMI, Hope International University, and Mid-Atlantic Christian University, and served six years as the Preaching Minister at Creswell Christian Church in Bel Air, Maryland.
One of our most popular undergraduate faculty members, Dr. Dicken will continue to teach undergraduate Bible courses, a reflection of his belief that “LCU will prepare you for your chosen vocation, but at the heart of all we do is reflection on Scripture.”
Dr. Dicken and his wife Jill live in Springfield, Illinois, and attend Southside Christian Church.
