The Lincoln Christian University (LCU) student body invites all area high school students and high school youth ministries to a special evening of worship in song and sermon, to be held November 13, 7 p.m. at Eastview Christian Church in Normal, IL.
Called “Focus,” after the LCU student-led service that takes place every other Wednesday night in the Earl C Hargrove Chapel at Lincoln Christian University’s campus in Lincoln, the event aims to bring LCU students and Bloomington-area high school students together for a night of music and message provided by LCU students and the Eastview high school ministry staff.
“What I truly want for this to be is an amazing night of worship with the Central Illinois area,” said LCU senior Robert Ebbens, Director of Focus – On the Road. “We planned this from the beginning to be a free event that was done with excellence, so that any youth group or senior high ministry could come and worship together. I truly desire to make a connection with our high school ministries in the area for this reason, and the second: to show that LCU is here, that LCU is a viable, awesome option for higher education, and that LCU loves Central Illinois.”
Focus is designed to be a catalyst for transformation, growth, and mission – where students come together to take part in praise, dive into scripture, and share communion. The LCU students behind this joint service with Eastview hope it can be just that for many high school students in Central Illinois, as they join with the many LCU students planning to attend on the night of November 13.
You don’t need to be a believing Christian to attend. All are welcome. Plan to come, and bring your friends.
“This Focus event has a simple goal and is organized by ordinary students,” Ebbens said. “But we’re praying that God will turn it into something extraordinary.”
Eastview Christian Church is located at North, 1500 Airport Rd, Normal, IL. There is no registration or RSVP necessary.
