Bird Lecture in Las Vegas

International Bible Scholar Featured at Las Vegas Lecture

Bird Lecture in Las Vegas

Lincoln Christian University’s (LCU) Las Vegas extension site is pleased to announce its inaugural lecture on November 17, 2014.

The lecture will be presented at The Crossing Church in Las Vegas and feature author and international Bible scholar Dr. Michael F. Bird.

Dr. Bird will be introducing a new approach to Paul’s most theologically sophisticated letter in his lecture entitled, “What is Romans Really About? A Fresh Look at a Favorite Pauline Letter.” This is a standout academic opportunity to attend a presentationfocused on biblical theology in a city focused on entertainment.

In January of 2013, Dr. Bird Ridley joined Melbourne College of Mission and Ministry as Lecturer in Theology, having previously served as Lecturer in Systematic Theology and New Testament at Crossway College and as New Testament Tutor at Highland Theological College. Bird holds a Bachelor of Ministries from Queensland Baptist College of Ministries, plus a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a Ph.D. from the University of Queensland.

Dr. Bird is the author/co-author of many books, including Evangelical Theology: A Systematic and Biblical Introduction (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2013), (ed.) How God Became Jesus: The Real Origins of Belief in Jesus’ Divine Nature in Response to Bart Ehrman (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2014), The Gospels of the Lord: How the Early Church Wrote the Story of Jesus (Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdmans, 2014), The Saving Righteousness of God: Studies in Paul, Justification and the New Perspective (PBM; Carlisle, UK: Paternoster, 2007) and A Bird’s-Eye View of Paul: The Man, His Mission and His Message (Nottingham: IVP, 2008) which was published as Introducing Paul in the USA. He has also written countless essays, journal articles and entries in reference works.

The public is invited to attend this unique event at The Crossing Church from 7-8:30 p.m. at no charge. The Crossing Church is located at 7950 W. Windmill Lane in Las Vegas.
