
The Red Lions women’s basketball team (9-9) braved the winter weather to make a trip to Kansas City, MO, on Friday, February 14, 2014, to meet the Warriors from Calvary Bible College. The decision to go in the treacherous weather worked to the Red Lions’ advantage as they earned their sixth consecutive win, their tenth of the season.
The Red Lions ladies led this game from the beginning and never looked back. LCU finished the first half by heading into the locker room up 27-12. They added five more points to their lead in the second half, finishing with a 57-37 win.
Junior forward Tatiana Colclasure (Effingham, IL/Effingham High) had 20 points to lead all scorers. Senior guard Moriah Kirkpatrick (Mt. Vernon, IL/John A. Logan CC) contributed 10 points. The Red Lions controlled the boards as well, out rebounding the lady Warriors 47-34. LCU junior forward Alicia Carson (Gobles, MI/Bloomingdale High) had 12 rebounds.
