The European Bible Study Tour is less than seven months from departure! There is still time for you to make your commitment to join this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Drs. Dicken and Zola have condensed the itinerary and given some additional travel information for you to view on the LCU website.
One of the sites that Dr. Dicken is excited about sharing is the Catacomb of St. Domitilla. A catacomb is a subterranean burial chamber. Numerous early Christian catacombs have been found not only in Rome but all over the Italian peninsula. Contrary to popular belief, the catacombs were probably not hiding places for early Christians escaping persecution and Christians probably did not meet for worship there. While the burial chambers post-date the New Testament – the Catacomb of Domitilla has burials from the 2nd-4th centuries – they do offer interesting glimpses into the lives of the earliest Christians. Take a look at the link above. It includes a brief historical overview as well as some photos from inside the catacomb and the adjoining church, which was built in the 4th century.
Register for the trip directly through Pilgrim Tours. We recommend paying by check as paying by credit card will incur an additional fee. Trip insurance (which includes health insurance while traveling) is available, particularly if you foresee any potential issues for yourself or your family while you are away. Remember that your $300 deposit is due by February 1, 2016 and the remaining balance is due March 10, 2016.
Please contact Frank Dicken or Nick Zola if you are strongly intending to participate on the trip so they can finalize numbers and start disseminating additional information to those who will be traveling with them.
