
Lincoln Christian Seminary invites you to attend their bi-annual Lectureship on March 3, 2015. This year, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Mark McMinn, Professor of Psychology and Director of Faith Integration in the Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology at George Fox University. Dr. McMinn will be speaking on “Why Positive Psychology Needs the Church.”
Mark McMinn received his undergraduate degree from Lewis and Clark College and a PhD in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University. Mark taught at George Fox from 1984 to 1993 before leaving to help start the PsyD program at Wheaton College, where he later assumed an endowed chair position in the integration of psychology and Christianity. He returned to George Fox in 2006 and now serves as Professor of Psychology and Director of Faith Integration in the Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology.
Dr. McMinn is a licensed psychologist in Oregon, a fellow and former president of APA’s Division 36, Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality, and board certified in clinical psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology. He has authored or co-authored 12 books, co-edited 4 books, and published over 120 book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles. He also writes software and currently has 13 apps available on the Apple Mac Store and the Apple iTunes Store.
McMinn is currently the primary investigator on a John Templeton Foundation grant to study positive psychology in Christian faith communities. His research interests include the integration of psychology and Christianity, positive psychology, clergy-psychology collaboration, and technology in psychological practice.
Mark is married to Lisa Graham McMinn, a sociologist, speaker, and writer. Together they raised three daughters, each of whom are now married with two children of their own. Mark and Lisa run a small Community Supported Agriculture farm where they use sustainable farming practices to grow fruit and vegetables, tend chickens, and keep honeybees.
