The Lincoln Christian University (LCU) women’s soccer team, hosted NAIA member, Stephens College on Saturday, September 21, 2013. It was a great day for LCU (2-3) as they won, 5 – 2.
The game started out fast for LCU, as they controlled the possession of the ball continuously. LCU scored the first goal of the game, but Stephens quickly responded by scoring a goal of their own. Once LCU broke the 1-1 tie, the game quickly belonged to LCU as they ran away with the 5-2 victory.
In her first game back from an ankle injury, senior Moriah Kirkpatrick (Mt. Vernon, IL/John A. Logan Community College) led the offensive attack for LCU, scoring two goals out of three total shots on goal. Senior Jessica Hoskins (Hudson, IL/Heartland Community College) scored two of her own goals. Senior mid-fielder Elizabeth Langley (Mahomet, IL/Mahomet-Seymour High) also scored a goal and recorded an assist.
