Student organizations foster learning, spiritual growth, and healthy relationships at LCU by bringing students together for activities, causes, or interests. Choose from a variety of clubs and organizations that will appeal to both undergraduate and graduate students. Below you will find descriptions of the primary student organizations on campus.
American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)
Sponsor: Dr. Nolan Thomas
A student chapter of the professional organization, AACC assists in keeping Christians in the helping profession connected with one another. The LCU student chapter organizes campus events throughout the year to hear from various guest speakers.
Chorale
Director: Jeff Colleen
Chorale is a singing group that performs in Chapel, produces an annual Christmas production called “Christmas in the Chapel,” and tours to churches and organizations across the United States. Members are chosen through auditions at the beginning of the fall semester. Watch for signs around campus or contact Jeff Colleen for audition and rehearsal dates and times.
Student Cabinets
Advisor: Jill Dicken
Student Cabinet provides the opportunity for students to work closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to communicate student needs and concerns. The Undergraduate Student Cabinet is made up of executive officers, their committees, and resident assistants. Executive officers are elected in the spring for the following fall semester. Cabinet members meet every Friday at 9:30 a.m.
The Seminary Student Cabinet serves their student body by discerning and addressing student needs, cultivating opportunities for them to engage in the life of the University, and providing representation on committees within the University and the Lincoln campus community. The members of the Seminary Student Cabinet consist of a range of students who are committed to seeing the Seminary prosper as a spiritually formative community. Implementing their unique gifts, the student leaders work alongside faculty, staff, and administrators on behalf of the larger Seminary student body.
Forming New Groups
Students who want to form new groups or organizations must bring a written proposal to the dean of students in the Student Development office. The proposal must be approved by the dean of students and the Student Cabinet. Membership in LCU organizations is limited to LCU students (in good standing) and employees. All groups and organizations must have a faculty or staff advisor. Contact Student Services with any questions.
Scheduling Group Events
All events and guest speakers must be approved by the Student Development office before scheduling with the Campus Events Coordinator. At all group events, the faculty or staff advisor or an approved substitute must be present. Contact the Dean of Student Services with any questions.
