With her passion for supporting professionals who care for and support others, such as missionaries, pastors, first responders, and fellow counselors, Dr. Denise Houser is excited about her calling to teach at LCU. Her clinical and academic work have centered on trauma, post-traumatic growth, and self-care. Houser believes that healing and growth take place within the context of family and community, and she encourages students and clients to develop their support networks. Houser has four adult children, and when not engaged in teaching or counseling, she enjoys reading, crocheting, playing games, and exploring new places.
