The Lincoln Christian University Advancement and Alumni office was pleased this month to present Gary Black with a Lifetime Christian Service Award.
Gary recently retired after three decades of leading Clayton Christian Church in Clayton, IN. Prior to Clayton, Gary served in youth ministry at Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis. David Upchurch, LCU’s Director of Church Ministries, presented Gary his award, and said “Gary has always been a minister I look up to and respect. From his early days as a dynamic youth minister, to his 30 years of preaching at Clayton Christian Church, he has been a great example of how to love God, love people, and be faithful in ministry.”
Gary, a 1971 graduate of Lincoln Christian College and a 1977 graduate of Lincoln Christian Seminary, has demonstrated decades of faithful preaching and pastoring the local church in service of Christ. LCU is honored to recognize Gary as a true example of a Lincoln Leader. Congratulations, Gary!
The Lifetime Christian Service award recognizes those who have dedicated their lives to Christian ministry and served faithfully for many years. This award seeks to honor those who have made an impact on the Kingdom in ways noticed by many, or few. Recipients do not need to be alumni of LCU, but their lives and work must in general align with LCU’s values and statement of faith.
