Why I Give

One of the things we love about the broader LCU community is hearing the variety of ways this place has made and is making a difference in their lives, and the Kingdom impact they see it having in churches, ministries, workplaces, and homes around the world.

Many of our alumni, friends, and churches even take the step of partnering with our university financially. People give for a number of deeply personal reasons, but there is one thread that runs consistently through the testimonies shared by those who love LCU: mission. Whether a particular faculty or staff member made a lasting impression, or the educational experience as a whole was most formative, the mission of LCU to teach and train Christian leaders is something our supporters believe in wholeheartedly.

We would love to hear from you as to why you partner with LCU. Click the button below to submit your ‘Why I Give.’

Why I Give

Here are some wonderful examples of those financial partners, sharing why they give to LCU:

“My wife and I give to LCU monthly because we believe in its mission and purpose. We are recent alumni and value what we learned and experienced in ways we never imagined. We want to be a part of the school’s future, and we encourage you to also give to LCU, whether as a monthly tithe or a one-time gift. It’s worth it.” – Levi and Lily Farar

“LCU has been part of nurturing a global vision in our family and providing the resources necessary to participate in Christ’s mission. Our family: 8 students, 7 grads, 3 profs, 1 VP. We’ve received much; we’ve much to give in return.” – Dr. Chuck and Gail Sackett

“We consider it a privilege to contribute to the ongoing Kingdom work at Lincoln Christian University. Those who serve and have served at LCU have taught us, encouraged us, strengthened our faith, and given our hearts a place to call home. Above all, they seek to give glory to God and devote themselves to the education and training of those who desire to follow Jesus Christ and further the gospel. Thank you, LCU.” – Berwyn and Vicki Shaw

“We see ourselves as a part of a relational community much larger than ourselves – that exists to make followers of Jesus by loving God and loving people. We recognize LCU’s mission to nurture and equip Christians with a Biblical worldview to serve and lead in the church and the world as valuable. Lincoln is well positioned moving forward into whatever comes next in a culture that continues to desire what it is working so hard to leave behind. Furthermore, Cornerstone values LCU’s accreditation. We want to be in relationship with a Christian University that is fully accredited and is willing and able to prepare students for employment and graduate studies that are not limited to traditional “church” roles. Lincoln Christian University continues to be our favorite and best partner in the development of future servant leaders.” – Cornerstone Christian Church, Effingham, IL

“We invest in LCU, not give. LCU has a long history of paying out spiritual dividends in our home, in our community, and in our local body of believers. An investment into LCU is an investment into the overall spiritual health of our local leaders and Churches, which will be responsible for responding to the spiritual pangs of a society that has abandoned our Heavenly Father.” – Tony and Crystal Kirkman

“We give to Lincoln Christian University to help bring about God’s purpose in the world. LCU does a great job training men and women to accomplish this.” – Kelly and Loretta Davis

“MCC supports LCU because of its long tradition of educating each generation with an emphasis on church leadership and involvement. We’ve had many staff members over the years who’ve been trained at LCU, and we believe it’s important to help our Christian schools thrive. We pray for and send money and students to LCU so it can continue its work of preparing students for a lifetime of knowing God, loving Jesus, and sharing His message.” – Minier Christian Church, Minier, IL

“We continue to partner with LCU financially because in the current climate of higher education, it is encouraging to know that students can attend a four year university and learn truth from a Biblical perspective. Too many Colleges and Universities have chosen the way of the world and are indoctrinating instead of educating. Lincoln hires professors and staff members based on integrity, ethics, and their solid Christian faith. These are a few of the reasons that we support LCU.” – Brian and Julie Cox

“We partner with LCU because of the exceptional Christian education received by five members of our family: Mark Gallagher, Chris and Emily (Gallagher) Lawler and Benji and Liz (Gallagher) Maurer.” – Mark and Sue Gallagher

“We support Lincoln Christian University because we believe in its mission. The only hope for humankind is the redemption story that LCU’s staff and students infuse into our world through word and deed. We are absolutely confident that investing in LCU provides life-changing and exponential returns. Its with deep love and overflowing enthusiasm that we direct God-given resources to LCU.” – Robert and Laura Cremeens

“Our support of LCU is an invaluable connection to the mission of the church and the advancement of the Kingdom of God. The training of leaders for both today and tomorrow, and the consistent focus on the gospel means that our support enables the church to continue to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission.” – Kansas Christian Church, Kansas, IL

“LCU offers its students a close-knit, authentic community of believers that fosters spiritual formation and enrichment through social engagement, on-campus worship, service opportunities, and close relationships with the faculty and administration. Life-long friendships are formed with fellow students and faculty members that provide encouragement and spiritual support long after graduation. We want to support this transformational culture. We believe LCU is an essential pipeline to Christian Churches, Churches of Christ, and Restoration colleges for full-time ministers and Christian educators. If the Restoration ideal and its theology are to be sustained, this pipeline needs our financial support in addition to the other ministries we support. We believe it is our responsibility to give generously to those who are keeping the truth of scripture alive and well in an increasingly pluralistic, religious world.” – Warren and Deb Knoles

“We support Lincoln Christian University because of their commitment to equipping the next generation to be effective kingdom workers.  From the staff to the students, their love for Christ and His church is so contagious.  We are excited to support a Christian university that truly leads by example.”  – Onalaska Church of Christ, Onalaska, WI

“Riverside Community Church partners with LCU because it is an eternal investment.” – Riverside Community Church, Machesney Park, IL
